UN Climate Conference 1 step closer to a deal

The UN has had a breakthrough at the COP 17 Climate discussions in Durban, South Africa. The various countries who are involved in the discussion have agreed that a deal will come to fruition.

A breakthrough was made at climate talks in Durban, South Africa when the various nations negotiators came to agreement to initiate a new climate deal that would have full United Nations legal force and more importantly require both more developed countries and less developed countries to cut their carbon emissions. It will now take a further 4 years and must be agreed by 2015 and come into force in 2020. The last set of talks came into agreement early on Sunday morning after over 60 hours of negotiations.
