We say together Hello! to you and to our many friends already on web talking about this once in a century, revolutionary approach to rebuilding of the entire housing stock in the UK. What we do here is attempt to posts the facts around the Green Deal as they’re made available to us. We will also attempt to pull together comments and opinions of various stakeholders where we feel it’s important that it be on the public record . What is the Green Deal? It is a big deal? Yes! It’s a once in a century, revolutionary approach to reducing every single energy bill of the entire UK’s housing stock. Crafted by government it places obligations on some and new opportunities for others. Get that balance right, and we have no our hands, the possibilities of the second super-energy revolution not far away. Why is this happening? Caught between a rock (oil depletion and increasing costs) and a hard place (global warming) the government is now looking at least 3 lost decades where very few important home energy efficiency improvements were carried out. So today, our collective problem is massive and growing. This requires now a big new rethink. The green deal is that thinking. Getting ready! The green deal is still being knocked around by the government and key stakeholders, such as energy provides, banks, construction companies, contractors and consumers to name just but a few. Launch date is set for October 2012.
